Hello all, my name is Jennifer. I’m a self taught knitter who has been experimenting off and on for the last couple of years. In 2007 I moved to Alaska and while unemployed my first winter became completely obsessed! I love cables, lace, felting and love to try new stitch patterns. My problem usually is that I jump in over my head and start adapting patterns or making up my own before I really know what I’m doing. But, I’ve learned a LOT that way! I was the same way in college too. I went to the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, where I majored in Illustration and Design, and took lots of classes in photography and sculpture.
I’m also a thirty-something SciFi geek who met and married my best friend by way of our mutual love for the show Battlestar Galactica. (We met on the SciFi fan forum for the show. And even got invited to the set for our honeymoon!!) Meeting that man changed my life in ways I’m only beginning to understand. The most obvious of course is that I moved from Minnesota to Alaska to be with him! We got married in July 2007 and our first year together has been a wonderful adventure. I look forward with a happy heart to many more.
I’ve started this blog to help me chronicle my journey through knitting, other art and career paths, and unfortunately while working through my pain. Last year I had my right ankle fused because of sever arthritis, and I think I have undiagnosed fibromyalgia. Hopefully there won’t be too many whiny posts about that, but I can’t promise anything just yet. And I’ve yet to decide whether I’ll keep my knitting and art on separate blogs, so we’ll see… In any case, welcome, and thank you for reading more about me!
~Jennifer
